The Minister of Youth and Sports, Georgi Glushkov, spoke about the role of volunteers in European sports during the meeting of the Council for Education, Youth, Culture and Sports in Brussels. “The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Bulgaria works to support volunteering in close cooperation with sports and youth organizations, as well as with local authorities. I would like to mention the “Let’s do it” project of the Balkan Wheelchair Basketball League, financed by the European Solidarity Corps program, said Georgi Glushkov.
The project has created an adapted basketball volunteer guide, designed for people who are interested in volunteering and want to help include people with disabilities in sports. The program contributes to creating a favorable environment for the promotion of volunteer activities in the field of youth and sports, and we hope that the “Sport” sector will remain its priority in the future,” said Georgi Glushkov.
