The 10th edition of the Bulgarian National Wheelchair Basketball Championship got underway this weekend at the “Triaditsa” Hall in Sofia, with the opening round delivering exciting action and clear signals of intent from the top teams.
BCPD Levski emerged as the early frontrunner, claiming two convincing wins to kick off the season. The Sofia-based team first defeated Cherno More Ticha 65–41, building a steady lead early on and dominating throughout the second half. In their second game, Levski overcame Sofia-Balkan 66–46, once again asserting control from the start and never allowing their opponent to close the gap. Xabier Iragorri and Ludvig Sjöström were instrumental in both victories, contributing with strong all-around performances and leadership on the court.
Cherno More Ticha bounced back in their second match, defeating Sofia-Balkan 54–34. The defending champions built a commanding 21-point halftime lead and maintained control to secure their first win of the season. Martin Ivanov and Georgi Ivanov led the team with efficient scoring and strong defensive play.
After the first round of competition, Levski sits atop the standings with a perfect 2–0 record. Cherno More Ticha holds a 1–1 balance, while Sofia-Balkan remains winless at 0–2.
